Default Banana trees keeling over

I've had two areas on my lot with unknown bananas that were here before I moved in and have been providing fruit for over eight years I have owned my house. This summer two that were full of green immature banana stalks just fell over. They get watered, fertilizer, mulch and nothing has changed in their care but this is the first year I've experienced this problem.

In the past I've propped them up but none fell over so fast. What can be causing this?
