Those buckets are not bad. I have used them to grow plants but the handles usually break out of the plastic first. Check out feed stores for livestock. Horse water buckets with rope handles are made of thicker plastic and are a lot more durable for just a little more money than what WalMart charges for these party style beverage buckets.
