Default Re: Banana Plant Seeds

They can be started anytime, I buy mine from Mark Davies seeds from the UK on Ebay. I have had 3 Musa Yunnanensis seeds sprout this last week after 2 weeks, and I have had seeds purchased from there germinate in the past also. There may be other dealers on here as well, but I have not bought from them yet. Some seeds do germinate better with temperature fluctuations though, I simulate this by placing my seed trays on top of a fluorescent light fixture that gets warm, and then placing the same trays on the floor at night. I am guessing the temperatures are in the mid 90s in the day, and in the upper 60s at night. I have sprouted the yunnanensis, and Sikkimensis, both plain green, and red tiger this way.
