I stopped using the term "Ice Cream" in reference to bananas a couple-few years ago because it basically lost its meaning.
... and yes, we do have Blue Javas in CA, but I ain't going to call anything "Ice Cream" unless describing a dairy product.
Aside from that, I like Blue Javas but they're not nearly as cold tolerant or flexible in use as my "not so dwarf" Orinocos.
My buddy, on the other hand, prefers his Blue Java over Orinoco.
... but then I really like tostones!

I cannot comment on the cold hardiness as we only had two hours of early morning frost this last winter, but I have tasted Orinoco. Even though my BJ/IC were inconsistent and not necessarily a Vanilla Ice Cream flavor, I would always prefer them over any Orinoco I have tasted so far.
