Re: Better get ready West Coast
Well, it looks like it's all over now. No more crazy, extreme cold. And my plants look like they've been to hell and back. The lowest we got was 24.8 degrees. Brr....
Misi Namwah
Blue Java
Pisang Ceylon
So much for the beautiful green foliage they had all the way up to late November. BUT WAIT!
The pseudostems have shaken off this cold as if nothing even happened. They are still firm and green underneath the outer sheaths. Even the Pisang Ceylon made it through all of this. The only fatality appears to be one of the Blue Java's newly emerged pups. Given how rare and unusual this kind of cold is here, I'm now thoroughly convinced that my banana plants can survive just about anything the South Bay throws at them. They certainly are really tough plants.
