Default Call B.P.S., I'm killing my plants!

Joined this forum about two months ago when I got my "Musa acuminata"s and my "Musa sumatrana"s. I'm in Austin, TX. They get a get shade most of the morning and direct sun in the late afternoon. I try not to overwater, but they are droopy and look thirsty. The outer leaves dry out and crisp up. But the soil has some moisture and I am afraid of causing root rot. Please advise.
