Default Now why did my banana tree suddenly stop growing?

It's a young tree, about 3 feet tall. It was growing like crazy since just after we got it (about 2 months ago), but suddenly it stopped cold, and all leaves except the 4 latest ones started dying. Those 4 look fine.
It's in an extra large pot. I gave it lots of manure to start with, but does it need more maybe? If pictures would help, I'll be glad to post some.
