Default Dave

Hi everyone. My name is Dave and I just joined bananas.org. I received a banana plant from a "former" friend of mine. He owns a bar and grill and had so many plants, it wasn't even funny. Unfortunatly he never took care of them. Anyway, long story short, he let me take one of the smaller ones. That was this year, but several months ago. Two of the plants are already up to the second story of the house and have produced "bracts", "fingers" and now "bunches". Ahhhhhh, but I still don't know what kind of plant it is. I heard something (hard of hearing) in a video on the internet about a Musa Sala Toretta. I couldn't really hear what the lady said and I'm sure sure about the pronunciation or spelling. Does anyone know what kind of plant I have? I'm here in central Florida.
Thanks.
Dave
