In August 2000 I found an old sweet dog near my house and never found the owner, I had just put down my first dog a few months earlier and that was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I named my new dog Hana after the town in Maui where I have been a few times, she was as sweet and calm as that heavenly place where everything grows big and fast. Eventually her nickname became Hanabanana and when I started growing nanners last year that was my first thought. I am not rich by any stretch but I learned how to do Hawaii on the cheap and offer advice to anyone planning to visit there.
