Default Re: Indoor Bannana Tree

Wow, that video was SOOOOOOO very misleading. It should gone something like 'why spend a few dollars on store-bought bananas when you can spend several years and plenty of effort to grow your own!? They act like you can harvest fruit year round from a single potted banana.....riiiiiiight.

Anywho, I'm sure growing bananas would be a lot of fun for it's not like it's a huge waste of money or anything. Just don't get your hopes too terribly high on achieving fruit (since many of us northern/indoor growers have been at this for years and never even seen a flower).

And like Tony said, musa is the genus (like the 'family' but more specific) that includes all the edible bananas and a few inedible ones as well. Musa 'Dwarf Cavendish' is a variety within musa that looks like a very likely possible plant that the infomercial is selling.
Feel the beat from start to stop, dancin' and movin' from bottom to top!
RIP Tog Tan. We love you and will always remember you!
