I had a Namwah go through slow funny growth for a while, then literally start over with new small leaves right next to (as if a second plant inside the original) it. Same with a Mysore - It was unhappy with rather poorly drained soil, and started up some really small leaves as if starting over. They're fine now though.
I think in the end it's going to be OK, just like yours... it's just really odd, I have 5 other different types of bananas and all are doing fine, but they are in a more protected area as well, I have put them between my house and the house next door to try and see something pleasing other than Icky weeds...I should put up a fence but I would rather see and eat bananas...LOL
