Hiya Can dwarf cavendish bananas be eaten?

I contacted the company who supplies the banana plants to my local supermarket where i bought it from, for identification purposes. He told me it was a Dwarf Cavendish, I have pictures in my gallery. The pot i had got the plant in said do not eat. When i asked the supplier he said the supermarket asked him to put that on, and that i should research it myself to decide whether or not i wanted to eat the fruit.

So can I?
