Default Re: Bringing corms out of storage.

I cut down my big guy late last fall, pulled it out of the pot and hid it in a black trash bag in the basement all winter. But its been C R A Z Y warm for the last week or 2 - DC Cherry Blossom festival has kicked into gear weeks early - all the plants in our yard are 3-4 weeks ahead of the usual schedule.
So, I took my big pot from last year, put some bluestone gravel in the bottom, and a piece of pot shard to shield the overflow pipe, dropped that big 'ol root ball in on the gravel, filled around it with potting oil, and gave it a big old drink ... and left it outside for the SUN ...

The cut stalk is about 3.5 foot tall, the root ball is huge - maybe 2.5 foot across - with fresh whispy roots sprouting already!

Its almost 10PM and its still 71 degrees outside - MARCH 22!!

Pictures tomorrow when I get a chance!
