The fruit with alata written on it is a phoenicea fruit that was pollenated with alata.I heard that the phoeniceas in the United States are most likely all hybrids and will not self.Alata I am not sure about,next year I will isolated some alata flowers and see if they will self.If it does not that does not mean much either because it may be a hybrid and not true alata. So true alata and true phoenicea should self but finding the true form may be difficult
