I live inland in S Fla and we are getting extremes of heat too. All the naners leaves are "pursed up" from noon till 7 PM.

In order to spend more time outdoors I dress in a t-shirt and shorts and jump in the pool before starting yard chores. Put on crocks instead of sneakers to kick off easy. I start to dry up and get hot after an hour or so and I jump in the pool again.

By staying wet you can get in 3 or 4 hours of productive work, even on the hottest days. And, of course, always wear a hat.

And no beer till the work's done!
