That was the first I did. I cut the brown tissue down to the corm and I'm checking on a regular basis for any signs of rot, but none so far.
The corm is covered with mulch. I think I will add some fungicide - just in case. The good thing is the soil temperature, it's above 10°C/50 F and it should be getting warmer the next days.
