Default Re: wanted Colocasia yellow splash

Yellow Splash is a hard one to keep. It has a strong tendency to revert to green. If you don't stay after it, always removing any green offsets, it won't be long before you lose all the yellow variegation.

You'd want to get it early in the season, so it has time to get big before overwintering. It is not as hardy as the same plant (Colocasia esculenta) in all green.

I'd still like to have it again as well........ It would be worth the trouble.

I had a beautiful yellow-variegated Alocasia calidora, but a fungus attacked several of my Ears last year. What was left of it was smallish, and was gaining in size, but the bulb went soft halfway through the winter. Now I'm thinking that I should have kept it in strong light and growing through the winter instead of trying to let such a small bulb go dormant.

@RAINFOREZT: If you could post a picture of your variegated Alocasia, I could probably tell you what you have.

It's nice to find some fellow variegated EE lovers here!
