Velutinas are easy to sprout, so you should be able to try again in no time. At your latitude I would plant seeds outside (in shade) in community pots and leave them there. You will that way get the necessary temperature fluctuations naturally. When they sprout, plant them in individual pots. At the seedling-stage, leave them in the shade or part shade. As they grow bigger and get more extensive root-systems, put them in full sun.
