This banana did not overwinter outside, it was stored bareroot in my basement. I assumed it would not be a great harvest but here in zone six it is still exciting to see. This is the first banana I've had flower. I expected to get one of my basjoo's or lasiocarpa's to bloom here. I did not expect to get this banana to bloom. It is really something to watch the change in the flower within hours. It is now hanging down, so I hope it begins to open soon.
