I've been reading of other people with squirrel troubles and decided to check in with Nana Nut to see how the Kania trap worked out. I sent a PM and got the following glowing report!!!

The only "modification" I had to make was I don't use the built-in bait trap as it didn't work at all. Instead, I sprinkle sunflower seeds in the floor of the trap and slant it so the seeds all go to the back of the trap. I also had to put some wire mesh over the trigger mechanism because at first the squirrels simply delicately put their heads through it and ate the seeds without tripping it.
With these modifications, it works every single time, and I now don't even have the trap set most of the time because there ARE no squirrels in my yard. My neighbors have wondered where all the squirrels went...
The Kania is a bit expensive, but it's well worth it. I spent a fortune trying to cage up the banana plants, putting out "squirrel away" products, moth balls, castor beans, insecticidal soaps, various smelly things, a fake owl, pinwheels, netting, and even a motion-activated sprinkler system...nothing worked until the Kania.
Anyone seriously wanting to rid themselves of these things should buy a Kania.
