I don't know exactly, we don't have a thermometer outside but according to the weather sites it was in the low 30's. Cold enough to kill just about all the leaves but not the pseudo stems. During the cold snaps I left all the garage light's on, the garden lights stayed on all night, and did some wrapping and moving. I made a temp greenhouse over my pineapples which connected to a south/east facing garage wall. Throughout the beds I mulched old banana leaves for ground warmth. I even placed large rocks in strategic places to collect warmth from the sun and release it at night.

Hopefully that won't happen again!

We have friends who just sold their home in Topanga and are packing as we speak. They live at the very top with an awesome view of Redrock and the surrounding mountains, well not for long!
