My Mini Sdc did that too in the fall. I think they tend to do that whenever they aren't totally happy in their growing conditions. It turned out the bloom was trying to come out in mine. How old is yours? Maybe you should take a good look inside and see if something is trying to come out? my mini bloomed at 3 yrs.
