Default Variegation in Thai black

When I received this plant from Hirt's Garden (ebay) I noticed that it had patches of streaky yellow in the leaves. I figured that it would grow out of it, but here we are at the end of summer and 9 ft+ plant and the streaks are still there.

Does anyone with Thai balck see this? And, no, it is not a fertilizer/mineral deficniency issue.
